A Dachshund Spider Costume for Halloween Please!
Dressing your fur baby in a dachshund spider costume is the best way to get some laughs this Halloween. Not because of your doxie. I promise they’ll be their adorable everyday selves.
No, it’s everyone else who will see your dachshund dressed as a spider will freak because they’ll think it’s a a giant arachnid that’s running amok.
Think about it. Dress your dog in a spider costume and just let him hang out on the front porch in the shadows. When trick-or-treaters or party guests come to your door, they’ll hear something, see a giant spider running towards them, then turn, scream and run.

The tarantula outfit makes for a really cute Halloween costume for a dachshund, especially if you have a wire haired or long haired doxie. The costume is hairy, and it would blend in well with them.
But don’t count this costume out if you have a smooth haired dachshund. As you can see in this photo, they can pull the hairy tarantula look off, too!
Reviewers have commented that this costume runs small, and it’s best to order a size up to make sure it will fit.

Several dachshund owners have left reviews on Amazon, and commented that the medium fit a 10lb lean doxie really well. I would use that as a gauge if your dog weighs more or less than that.
This dachshund spider costume fastens under your dog’s belly with Velcro. It does not have a hole for a harness or leash, but it’s easy to cut a small hole and run one through.
It’s made out of 100% polyester, but hand washing is recommended to keep the costume from shedding.

X-Small: Chest 15″ Neck 9″ Length 8″
Small Chest: 16″ Neck 10″ Length 12″
Medium Chest: 22″ Neck 13″ Length 16″
Large Chest: 28″ Neck 17″ Length 20″
The spider body attaches to your dog by Velcro straps that fit under their belly and neck. The spider legs are bendable, so you can pose them in whatever position you choose.

This is what I’d call a minimalist costume. If your doxie isn’t used to wearing outfits, this is would be the perfect costume to start off with.
It’s just black stuffed legs that’s attached to a stuffed pad. Velcro straps wrap around your pet’s belly and neck to keep everything secure.
The legs aren’t posable, they just hang loose which could bug your dog. But there isn’t anything that fits over your doxie’s head, which is a plus. In my experience I’ve found that dogs can tolerate just about anything as long as their head is free.

Funky Spider Princess Halloween Costume for Her
In my list of spider costumes dachshunds can wear, I couldn’t forget the ladies! It’s every girl’s dream to be a princess. Now your doxie can be a SPIDER princess!
It’s a pretty neon green dress with a spider web print tulle skirt overlay. It Velcros in the front, so it’s easy to get on and off your pet. An elegant black spider sits on her back, which kind of reminds me of wings with the way it’s designed. So chic for your little princess.
Sizing is easy with this outfit, because it’s made by Rubie’s Costumes, too. Use the same size chart above as a guide. Just remember to measure your dachshund from neck to the base of her tail. Getting the length right on this costume is a must for a good fit.
